Wolverines Pull Out Win Over Gordon Lee Trojans

The Dade County Wolverine basketball team hosted the Gordon Lee Trojans on Tuesday, Jan. 14, and came away with a much-needed win.

The two teams battled it out in the first quarter as good defense played a big part in holding down the score and Dade County took a two-point lead at the end of the first quarter, 10-8.

The second quarter was almost a carbon copy of the first as defense dominated. The Wolverines managed to add to their lead, outscoring the Trojans 11-9, and led at the end of the first half, 21-17.

Action picked up in the second half as the Wolverines found their shooting range in the third quarter, outscoring the Trojans 15-11 to lead 36-28 heading into the fourth quarter.

Dade pulled away from Gordon Lee in the fourth quarter, outscoring them 18-12 and came away with a much-needed win, 54-40.
Braydan Jones led the Wolverines with 11 points while Bryson Shrader, Cash Christiansen, and Nate Hurst all had nine points each.

The Friday night game at Fannin County was postponed until Jan. 29 because of severe weather as Fannin County was out of school all last week.

The Wolverines traveled to Christian Heritage on Tuesday and will host the Armuchee Indians on Friday, Jan. 24 and the Eagles of Coosa High School on Saturday, Jan. 25.
