Lady Trojans Slip By Lady Wolverines 43–38

The Dade County Lady Wolverine basketball team hosted the Gordon Lee Lady Trojans on Tuesday, Jan. 14, in a region match up.

The game got off to a good start for both teams and the Lady Trojans took an early lead. At the end of the first quarter, they led the Lady Wolverines by the score of 15-11.

The pace of the game slowed in the second quarter as both teams played strong defense with Gordon Lee outscoring the Lady Wolverines 6-5 to lead at the end of the first half, 21-16.

The third quarter was much like the first as both teams showed some offense with the Lady Trojans outscoring the Dade 16-13 to build an eight-point lead, 37-29 heading into the fourth quarter.

The fourth quarter proved to be exciting as the Lady Wolverines cut the Lady Trojan lead to two-points on several occasion but could not get any closer and the game ended with Gordon Lee on top, 43-38.

The Lady Wolverines got a huge game from Adilynn Gross who scored 11 points and grabbed a season high 20 rebounds. Makensy Cooper also had a big night scoring 11 points.

The Friday night game at Fannin County was postponed until Jan. 29 because of severe weather as Fannin County was out of school all last week.

The Lady Wolverines faced Christian Heritage on Tuesday and host Armuchee’s Lady Indians on Friday, Jan. 24 and Coosa High School’s Lady Eagles on Saturday, Jan. 25.
