The Dade County Lady Wolverine basketball team traveled to Chickamauga on Tuesday, Nov. 19, to face the Lady Eagles of Oakwood Christian.

Dade County took the early lead and at the end of the first quarter were on top 12-7.

Both teams struggled to find their shooting range in the first half, but the Lady Wolverines managed to outscore the Lady Eagles in the second quarter, 8-7 and held a six-point lead at the end of the first half, 20-14.

The scoring struggles extended to the third quarter but again the Lady Wolverines managed to outscore Oakwood Christian 7-6 and heading into the fourth quarter were up 27-20.

Dade shot the ball better in the fourth quarter while the defense continued to put pressure on the Lady Eagles. With a 15-point fourth quarter the Lady Wolverines pulled away to claim a 42-28 win – their first of the season.

Adilynn Gross led the Lady Wolverines with 14 points and eight rebounds; Morgan Edwards finished with eight points and eight rebounds.

Dade’s scoring struggles from the Oakwood Christian game continued against the Lady Panthers. At the end of the first quarter the Lady Wolverines were down three points, 13-10 and that would be their biggest scoring quarter of the game.

The combination of foul trouble and poor shooting continued in the second half as the Lady Panthers struggled to score in the third quarter as well but outscored Dade 8-7 and led 38-26 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Lady Wolverines managed just four fourth quarter points and fell to the Lady Panthers by the final score of 52-30.

Makensy Cooper led the Lady Wolverines with 11 points and six rebounds while Kailey Pardue, Kiera Hughes, and Zariah Hughes all scored four points each.
