The Dade County High School Lady Wolverines basketball team will be in action Thursday night, Nov. 14, as the 2024-2025 season tips off when they host the Sylvania Lady Rams. The boys’ game has been postponed until later in the season due to football season being extended a week and the playoffs getting underway.
Lady Wolverine coach Katie Burrows begins her second season leading a very young team this year with only one returning starter, Adilyn Gross, a senior, and one other senior, Zariah Hughes, who has shown a great deal of leadership this off-season. Coach Burrows said she is expecting her to have a much bigger role this season.
This year’s team will be very young as ten freshmen will be on the roster. Coach Burrows said, “several of these freshmen showed a lot of promise in our recent scrimmage against Signal Mountain.”
The Lady Wolverines will open the season on Thursday when they host the Sylvania Lady Rams. Coach Burrows said, “They have a new coach, so we do not know exactly what to expect from them. That makes it difficult because we have to prepare for a lot of different scenarios. It will be an interesting way to start the season.”
Junior Varsity will tip off at 6 p.m., with the Lady Wolverines varsity taking the court at 7:30 p.m. Their next game will be at Oakwood Christian on Nov. 19.
Get out and support the Lady Wolverines as the 2024-2025 season gets underway!
