The Dade County High School Wolverine football team scrimmaged Marion County High School and Howard High School on Friday night as they prepare for the opening of the 2024 football season.
Coach Jeff Poston had this to say about the Marion County scrimmage, “I feel like we were physical, and we definitely did some good things by outscoring Marion in every period of competition. I do think we have a lot to improve on, and our execution needs to get better before Ringgold gets here Thursday.
“We will have to gut it out for four quarters this week against a really good Ringgold team. I worry about our depth being an issue, but it will be a great game to help us prepare for region play in a few weeks.”
The Wolverines will kick off the season at Magic Morgan Stadium tomorrow, Aug. 15, at 7:30 p.m., against the Ringgold Tigers.
