DCHS Golf Team Makes Top 10 In Class 1A D2 State Tournament

The Dade County High School Wolverine golf team traveled to Statesboro to compete in the Class 1A D2 State Golf Tournament.
The team traveled to Statesboro on Saturday, got to play a practice round on Sunday, and the tournament was played on Monday and Tuesday.
On Monday, Dade County was led by a pair of sophomores. Mason Weathers led the Wolverines with an 87 and Kooper Knight finished with a 99 on the challenging Georgia Southern University Golf Course.
Heath Walters shot 100, Lucas Weathers 106, Ethan Williams 116, and Eli Ryan 117.
On Tuesday, Mason Weathers again led DCHS with an outstanding 79 while Knight finished day two with a 95.
Walters was next for the Wolverines at 105 followed by Lucas Weathers 111, Ryan 122, and Williams 132.
The Wolverines ended their season by finishing 10th at the state tournament, finishing an outstanding season.
The Wolverine golf team has a bright future as Walters is the teams only senior.
Mason Weathers and Knight are sophomores and led the team both days during the tournament while junior Williams will also be returning. Lucas Weathers is also a sophomore and Ryan is a freshman.
With five returning players, the future looks good for Dade and great things are expected over the next couple of years.
