Lions Club 5/10K Raises Funding To Help Support Local Community

The Trenton Dade Lions Club held its annual 5/10K races for its biggest fundraiser of the year. The race was another successful event. Runners from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Mississippi and Tennessee participated.

Thirteen year old, Hazel Grace Taylor did an awesome job singing the National Anthem before the start of the event. She also placed first as overall female finisher in the 5K. Jennifer Taylor was the female master winner and Carla Cartwright was the Grandmaster female winner in the 5K.

Dustin Finlayson was the overall male winner, followed by master male winner Tim Davis. Eighty-two year old John Disterdick from Florida was the 5K Grandmaster winner.

The 10K overall male winner was Samuel Harrelson, male master Jeff Stracener and Grandmaster Ronnie Cartwright.

The 10K overall female was Sharon Cruse and Linda Brewer female master.

The Lions Club has provided glasses for many Dade County residents along with the help from McDonald Eye Care and the Georgia Lighthouse Foundation.
