The loss ended Dade’s season and the high school careers for several Lady Wolverines. Good luck in the future and we look forward to seeing what is in store for those returning next year.

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverines basketball team traveled to Alpharetta last week for the first round of the state basketball tournament.

The Lady Wolverines faced St. Francis in the first game and it was no contest against the number one ranked 1A team in Georgia and fifth ranked in all classifications.

Dade County fell behind early and could not get anything to go their way, falling behind 27-2 at the end of the first quarter.

If things could get worse, they did in the second quarter, and by the end of the first half they trailed 55-3.

They did rally back somewhat in the second half as they managed to score a few points and fought their way to a tough 62-21 loss to end the season.

No game stats were available.

Other teams in region 7 suffered similar fates with only the Trion Lady Bulldogs getting a first round win, defeating Paideia 48-29. They then lost to Athens Academy 58-50 in the second round.
