The Dade County High School Lady Wolverines basketball team traveled to Armuchee last Tuesday night to face the Lady Indians and played one of their best games of the season.

Taking an early lead, Dade County outscored Armuchee 12-7 in the first quarter to take a five-point lead early in the game.

While the second quarter was not as good for the Lady Wolverines as the first, they still held a four-point lead at the end of the first half, 21-17.

In the third quarter, Dade held on to the lead, but Armuchee had cut it to just two points by the end of the quarter, 29-27.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Wolverines fell victim to a season-long nemesis, the turnover! They had 18 in the game, but several critical ones came late in the game, resulting in 15 Lady Indian points.

Brooklyn Konrad had a big night with 18 points and 12 rebounds while Adilynn Gross scored 12 points and had seven rebounds. The two also shot all the free throws, hitting 13 of 14.

On Friday night, the Lady Wolverines hosted the Trion Lady Bulldogs, one of the top teams in region, and they proved why as the game progressed.

The Lady Wolverines had a good first quarter, trailing by just one point after the first eight minutes of play, 11-10.

Things started to change for the Lady Wolverines in the second quarter as their shots did not fall and the turnover bug continued to be a big issue for them. Trion outscored them 15-8 in the second quarter and took an eight-point lead at the end of the first half, 26-18.

The Lady Bulldogs dominated play in the third quarter, outscoring Dade 21-11, building an 18 point lead, and putting the game away, 47-29.

The Lady Wolverines managed just three fourth-quarter points and the Lady Bulldogs coasted to an easy win 59-32.

Konrad led the Lady Wolverines with nine points while Alexus Atterton scored six and Kailyn Castleberry and Josie Daniels scored five points each.
