The Dade County High School Lady Wolverines basketball team traveled to Trion High School on Tuesday, Jan. 9, to face the Lady Bulldogs in a region game.

The Lady Bulldogs came into the game as one of the top teams in region and state and they did not waste any time proving that point.

They would blister the nets with 22 first quarter points, building a 12-point lead over the Lady Wolverines who managed just 10 first quarter points.

The second quarter was a little better for Dade as Trion went to their bench and still outscored the visitors 13-9 to take the lead at the end of the first half, 35-19.

The Lady Bulldogs came out hot again in the third quarter, outscoring the Lady Wolverines 21 to nine and at the end of the third quarter led by 28, 56-28.

When the final seconds ran off the clock the Lady Bulldogs came away with an easy 66-36 win over the Lady Wolverines.

Turnovers continue to plague Dade County as they had 28 in the game to just 17 for the Lady Bulldogs.

Brooklyn Konrad led the Lady Wolverines with nine points and nine rebounds while Adilyn Gross scored eight points and pulled down nine rebounds.

On Thursday night the Lady Wolverines hosted the Lady Warriors of Marion County, Tenn., in a non-region game.

Dade got off to a terrible start as the Lady Warriors jumped out to a seven-point first quarter lead, 12-5 aided by numerous turnovers by the Lady Wolverines.

In the second quarter Dade County went to their bench, and they clawed their way back into the game, outscoring the visitors 13 to four and took the lead at the end of the first half, 18-16.

The two teams would swap baskets in the third quarter, each scoring 13 points, and heading into the fourth quarter the Lady Wolverines held a two-point lead, 32-29.

Late in the fourth quarter Dade built a little breathing room and came away with a hard fought 45-38 win.

The Lady Wolverines overcame 12 first quarter turnovers and poor shooting to claw their way back and take a big win. Konrad again led the Lady Wolverines with a double-double, 12 points and 15 rebounds. Gross scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
