Dade County High School Wolverine basketball coach Kevin Templeton shared his thoughts on the upcoming basketball season with the Sentinel last week.

“Despite losing four talented seniors, including all everything Brody Cooper, there is a reason for optimism at Dade County High School.

“Senior post Ben Williams 6’4” has shown steady improvement in the off-season, while returning wing starter Connor Wilburn will also be relied upon for scoring and defense.

“Due to the success of the Wolverine football team, there will be nine athletes getting a late start in basketball. While problematic, this is a good situation to have.

“The Wolverines finished 15-14 last year and earned the three seed for the region tournament,” coach Templeton said.
The first home action for the Wolverines will come on Tuesday, Nov. 28 against Oakwood Christian High School.
