Volleyball Team Drop Sets to Lady Tigers, Indians

Photo by Eddy Gifford – Lady Wolverines’ Brooklyn Konrad returns a volley. The Lady Wolverines wrap up the regular season this week at Coahulla Creek, facing the Lady Colts and Ringgold’s Lady Tigers.

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine volleyball team traveled to Rome last week to face Darlington and Armuchee in big region matches at Armuchee High School.

First up for Dade County was the Lady Tigers of Darlington.

The Lady Wolverines dropped the match 0-2 in two hard fought sets, 23-25 and 22-25.

In the match, Brooklyn Konrad had six kills, two assists, one dig; Azairah Reed had 12 assists, six digs, one kill; Isabella Blake had six kills, three assists, one dig; Abby Guffey had seven digs, two kills, and 12 assists.

DCHS then faced the Armuchee Lady Indians in another hard fought, close match. After dropping the first set 23-25, they dropped the second set 22-25 and the match 0-2.

Blake had six kills, three assists, one dig; Reed had 12 assists; six digs, one kill; Alyson Jenkins had four digs, one assist, two aces.

The Lady Wolverines played hard but just could not break through and dropped both matches 0-2.

This week, Dade will wrap up the regular season when they travel to Ringgold High School to face Coahulla Creek and Ringgold with the first match starting at 6 p.m.

Next week, the region tournament will get underway with dates and times to be announced later this week.
