Volleyball Drops Matches to Lady Trojans, Wildcats

Photo by Eddy Gifford – Anna Ballard sets the ball up in a recent volleyball match. The Lady Wolverines continue to improve as the season progresses and are working hard for a strong finish to the season.
The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine volleyball team traveled to Gordon Lee on Tuesday, Aug. 29 to face the Lady Trojans.
Dade County got off to a bad start in the first set and they could not get things going their way early and dropped the set 25-7.
In the second set, the Lady Wolverines played much better and battled to the end as they dropped that set 25-23 and the match 2-0.
Azairah Reed had 11 assists, five digs, one ace; Alyson Jenkins had two aces, nine digs; Brooklyn Konrad had four kills and four digs to lead the Lady Wolverines.
On Thursday, the Lady Wolverines faced Ft. Payne High School in a three-set match.
Dade dropped a hard fought first set 25-21 and continued to battle before losing the second set 25-16. The Lady Wildcats made it a sweep, taking the third set 25-7 and the match 3-0.
Leading the Lady Wolverines were Reed with 10 assists, two digs; Konrad with four kills, two aces; and Anna Ballard with four kills.
This week, Dade County will travel to Chattooga on Thursday to face the Lady Indians and the Trion Lady Bulldogs for their only matches of the week.
