The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine softball team hosted the LaFayette Lady Ramblers on Monday of last week looking for a little revenge from an embarrassing three inning run rule loss earlier in the season.

The Lady Ramblers took the lead in the top of the fourth inning when they scored a pair of runs with two outs. They had three hits in the innings.

LaFayette added another run in the top of the fifth inning to go up 3-2.

The Lady Wolverines bounced back in the bottom of the fifth inning picking up a pair of runs to cut the Lady Rambler’s lead to 3-2.

After a scoreless sixth inning, Dade County tied the game on a Kayleigh Warnock double to score Miley Chambers, tying the game 3-3 and sending it to extra innings.

LaFayette came to life in the top of the eighth inning, scoring five runs to take a big 8-3 lead.

The Lady Wolverines were not done however and put on a big rally in the bottom of the eighth. They loaded the bases with one out and Riley Talley doubled, scoring two runs to cut the Lady Ramblers’ led to 8-5.

A walk was followed by a ground out that scored Madi Page from third to make it 8-6 with two outs. KK Castleberry then doubled, scoring two more to tie the game 8-8.

Warnock was intentionally walked, and Adilyn Gross came through with a single up the middle to score Castleberry with the winning run and end the game with a big come from behind 9-8 win.

Warnock had three hits in the game and two RBI’s while Gross, Page, and Talley all had two hits.

Dade went right to work scoring four first inning runs to take the early lead.

In the top of the fifth, the Lady Wolverines added two more runs to take a commanding 16-3 lead into the bottom of the fifth with the Lady Tigers needing a big rally to keep the game from ending on the run rule.

Darlington did manage to put four runs on the board, but it was not enough as the Lady Wolverines came away with their first region win of the season, a dominating 16-7 win.

Gross led the way with four hits while Warnock, Lawson, and Rylee Bryam had three hits each. Castleberry had a pair of hits. The Lady Wolverines totaled 21 hits in the game.
