Photo by Eddy Gifford – Get out Thursday and see some great football action like this catch from last year’s North Sand Mountain game. Just drop the pads and play some seven-on-seven football. The action begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, at Magic Morgan Stadium and the practice field. The day is open to the public with no admission charge to see a dozen area high schools in action.

Attention Wolverine football fans! Are you ready for some football? You can get an early season preview tomorrow, July 13, when the Wolverines host a “Seven-on-Seven” competition on Magic Morgan Field and the practice field at Dade County High School.

The event will feature teams from Georgia, Alabama, and Tennessee. Those participating will be Dade, LaFayette, and Ringgold from Georgia. North Sand Mountain, Plainview, and Sylvania from Alabama; and Cleveland, Howard, Notre Dame, South Pittsburg, and Marion County from Tennessee.

For those of you not familiar with Seven-on-Seven football the Google definition is:
“Seven on Seven football is a version of football that emphasizes passing and route running. There are no pads in seven-on-seven football because there’s no tackling. The game is played on a 40-yard field and there are only two first downs. Players are downed when they are touched below the neck.”

The competition will start at 9 a.m., on Thursday morning. Each team will have a minimum of five games and each game will be 20 minutes with a running clock.

This is a great opportunity to get an early look at the Wolverine football team as the 2023 season is just weeks away.

This opportunity to see all these local teams is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.

No schedule of game times was available at press time so just come out and enjoy some early season football!
