The Wolverines were at home on Monday and traveled to Darlington on Tuesday. The final home match of the season will be Monday, March 27.

Dade County High School’s boys and girls varsity tennis teams showed up to play last Thursday, March 16, when the Chattooga Eagles came to town for a region match.

The Lady Wolverines took to the courts ready to win.  Number one singles, Alleigh Daniels, showed her never give up mentality by coming back from behind to take the first set in a tie break. Her marathon match ended about one and a half hours later with a win.

Jordan Biddle lost her battle after a hard-fought tie break. Next up, number three singles, Lex Atterton, split sets but after a tie break came up a little short. Both doubles teams, number one doubles, KK Castleberry and Brooklyn Konrad, and number two doubles, Cassidy Klitzke and Bella Varricchio, both dominated their matches and walked away with the win. Dade’s alternates doubles team, Lydia English and Kayci Moore, also took a win for Dade.

The Wolverines were equally as impressive on the courts. Starting it off for the boy’s was their number one singles team leader, Ethan Hunt, winning in straight sets. Number two singles, Jonathan Dupree, split sets with his opponent. He lost 8-10 in a tie breaker for the match.

Number one doubles, Aidan Ross and Aiden Cox, defeated their opponents in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

The tennis court lights came on for Lance Moore, number three singles, to finish his match. He won the first set 6-4. Then played a 7-point tie breaker for the second set. Moore lost his tie breaker, which sent this match into a second 10-point tie break for the third set. Under Moore rallied and won 10-2. What a match!

Great job to the DCHS Wolverines on the win!
