The Wolverine soccer team came away with a win and a loss in early season action.
The Wolverines defeated the Ridgeland Panthers 4-1 Thursday, Feb. 23, to claim their first victory of the season. The hometown boys hammered the Panther goal early, netting three before the halftime whistle blew.
Goals from Chase Mayo (assist: Ben Tinker), Leonard Riby (assist: Brayden Johnson), and Kade Pardue (assist: Javi Mayo) had Dade fans in a frenzy heading into the second half.
Ridgeland answered back with a goal of their own, only to see it negated moments later as senior Mayo restored a three-goal cushion. Senior Pardue and freshman Carter Bradley narrowly missed padding the lead even more after stellar bits of build-up play from the Wolverines.
The Wolverines are currently 1-3-2 for the season and 0-1-1 in conference play.
The team will host Chattooga on Thursday, March 16, at 7 p.m.
