DCHS Golf Team Opens 2023 Season

The Dade County High School golf team got its season started with a win when they faced the Ridgeland Panthers at Trenton Golf Course.
The Wolverines defeated the Panthers by the final total score of 179-217.
Kooper Knight was the low medalist for the match with a 38. Mason Weathers shot a 41, Heath Walters a 49, and Avery Flatt a 51. Lucas Weathers and Ethan Williams also competed in the match carding a 61 and 62 respectively.
North Sand Mountain High School proved too strong for the Wolverines on Thursday afternoon at Dogwood Hills Golf Course. NSM’s Blake Maples and Jarret Hill tied for low medalist honors, both shooting a 39. Mason Weathers posted the lowest score for Dade with a 41. Knight carded a 49, Flatt shot a 53, Walter a 54, Lucas Weathers a 64, and Williams a 67.
Mason Weathers led Dade County High School Saturday in the LaFayette Invitational shooting an 85. Teammates Knight, Walters, Flatt, Lucas Weathers, and Williams shot 103,114,110,123, and 134 respectively. The Wolverines placed 15th in the event scoring a 412. The Invitational was an 18–hole event while the other matches were nine hole events.
Calhoun High School won the tournament with a 298. Hayden Jackson from Calhoun High School and Grant Langford from LaFayette High School tied for Low Medalist, both shooting 71.
The Wolverines competed on Tuesday, March 14, at Brown Acres Golf Course in Chattanooga, Tenn., against Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe in a conference game and will compete Friday at Trenton Golf Course when they host Fyffe High School from Fyffe, Ala.
