The Dade County wrestling team competed Saturday at the Gold City Holiday Nutcracker tournament at Lumpkin County High School. The tournament featured several top programs, such as Archer, Lumpkin, Gainesville, Lamar County, Pickens, and Sonoraville.

Dade had two placers with Landon Williams winning the 190-pound weight class, pinning his way through the bracket. Jordan Casstellanos finished second in the 215-pound weight class.

Several Wolverines wrestled as deep as the consolation semifinals, finishing one match out of the medal round, were Eli Mason (106 pounds), Gideon Moore (138 pounds), Brandon Willerson (144 pounds), and Gabriel Yarbrough (285 pounds).

The Wolverines will compete this week at Armuchee and on Dec. 29th at Rockmart.
