Lady Wolverines Dominate Pumas

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine basketball team hosted the Dalton Academy Lady Pumas Tuesday, Dec. 13 in a region game.
The Lady Pumas are in their first year of region competition as the school is getting its athletic program started.

The Lady Wolverines picked up a region win over Dalton Academy last week and then dropped a game to the Lady Wildcats of Ft. Payne, Ala. The team is in action this week in the Gordon Lee Tournament and then will take a break for Christmas and resume play in January.
Dade dominated play from the opening tip, outscoring the Lady Pumas 19-3 in the first quarter and 14-2 in the second to take a commanding 33-5 lead at the end of the first half.
Dalton Academy failed to score in the third quarter as the Lady Wolverines poured in 19-points to lead 52-5 heading into the fourth quarter.
The Lady Pumas scored six points in the fourth quarter while Dade cruised to a 54-11 win.
Eleven Lady Wolverines scored in the game led by Morgan Edwards with 9, Adilynn Gross 8, Alexus Atterton 8, and Ali Thompson 7.

On Saturday afternoon the Lady Wolverines traveled to Ft. Payne, Ala., to face the Lady Wildcats in a non-region match up.
The Lady Wildcats were ready to play and put 19 points on the board in the first quarter as Dade struggled and managed just eight first quarter points to trail, 19-8.
It was more of the same in the second quarter for the Lady Wildcats as they again scored 19 points while the Lady Wolverines managed 11 but trailed at the end of the first half, 38-19.
Dade tried to rally back in the second half, outscoring the Lady Wildcats 17-10 in the third quarter to cut into their lead but still trailed 48-36.
Ft. Payne rallied back in the fourth quarter and outscored the Lady Wolverines 18-13 and came away with a 66-49 win.
Thompson and Castleberry led the Lady Wolverines with 11 points each while Gross and Norwood scored 9 points each.
