The Dade County High School Lady Wolverines softball team advanced to the State Tournament again this season by finishing second in Region 7A and faced a new format as they went to a Super Regional format this year instead of the top seeded team hosting.

Four teams made up the Super Regional with the winner advancing to the finals in Columbus.

Dade traveled to Mt. Vernon High School in Atlanta for their Super Regional along with the host, Rabun County, and Jasper County.

The Lady Wolverines opened play against Rabun County and defeated them in three innings by the final score of 15-0.

The Lady Wolverines then had to wait before facing Mt. Vernon in the winners bracket final. The game was a battle all the way, but Dade came up short in the end falling 5-3 in a good hard-fought game.

Those first games were played on Tuesday and on Wednesday the Lady Wolverines faced off against Rabun County again. This would be a different game as Rabun came ready to play and did not go down without a fight.

In the end Dade took the win by the final score of 8-6 to advance to the finals against Mt. Vernon.

The determined Lady Wolverines battled all the way and took the rematch over the host by the final score of 6-3 to force another game to determine the Super Regional champions.

In the final game the Lady Wolverines fought hard but fell late by the final score of 9-2 ending their season.
