Volleyball Team Downs Lady Eagles In Two Sets

Dade County High School’s Lady Wolverine volleyball team was back in action on Tuesday, Sept. 20 when they traveled to face the Darlington Lady Tigers in a big area match.

It was a hard-fought match from the opening volley as the two teams battled back and fourth for three sets. The Lady Tigers took the first set 25-23.

In the second set Dade had everything under control and took the second set by a comfortable margin, 25-15.

In the third and deciding set Darlington rallied and came away with a 15-7 win to take the match two sets to one claiming the area win.

Brooklyn Konrad had five kills in the match while Alabama McPhetridge had 10 digs. Zoe Smith had five digs, three kills, and five assists while Kendal Emmett had three assists, three digs. Delaynee Davis had eight digs, and one kill.
Next up for Dade was the Coosa Lady Eagles.

The Lady Wolverines responded in a big way after the disappointing loss to the Lady Tigers as they defeated the Lady Eagles in two sets, 25-12 and 25-14.

Smith had 13 assists, and four digs while Davis had 11 digs, four assists, and two kills.

This week the Lady Wolverines traveled to face Gordon Lee on Tuesday and Adairsville.

On Thursday they will again travel, this time to Dalton to face Dalton Academy and Christian Heritage.

The Lady Wolverines’ next home match will be Oct. 4 when they host Ringgold in the final regular season game of the year.

The region tournament is scheduled to begin Oct. 6 with times and opponents to be announced.
