Dade Wins In Five Against Mt. Zion

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverines softball team traveled to Mt. Zion on Tuesday, Sept. 6 for their only game of the week.

After a scoreless first inning Dade put three runs on the board on four hits to take a lead they would never give up.

In the third inning the Lady Wolverines padded their lead with four more runs while the strong pitching by Kayleigh Warnock held Mt. Zion scoreless.

Up 7-0 heading into the fifth inning DCHS scored two runs to take a 9-0 lead and then gave up a run in the bottom of the fifth to end the game on the run rule by a 9-1 score.

The Lady Wolverines banged out 14 hits in the game with Warnock and Raegan Page having three hits each. Kendyl Phillips and Falyn Baggett had two hits each in the win.

Warnock pitched a two-hitter striking out six, walking three, and not giving up an earned run.

The Lady Wolverines have a pair of big Region 7 games this week. They traveled to Pepperell on Tuesday and then will host Armuchee on Thursday. The Pepperell games starts at 5 p.m. and the Armuchee game at home on Thursday begins at 5:30 p.m.
