The Dade County Lady Wolverine volleyball team hits the court tomorrow, Aug. 11 at home with matches against Rome High School and Gordon Lee High School. The Rome match is set to begin at 5 p.m. with the Gordon Lee match set beginning at 7 p.m.
The Lady Wolverines have high expectations for the upcoming season after a successful season last year and the return of several key players.
Coach Carrie Morris gives us a preview of the upcoming season and is excited about the prospects for this team.
“This year we are led by our five seniors. We will be looking at seniors, Zoie Smith, Heidi Raines, and Alleigh Daniels to drive us offensively while seniors Delaynee Davis and Ella Thomas are going to be leading us defensively. We have a large junior class that we will depend on to contribute major minutes this season as well as a few sophomores. We have a talented group of players this year that continually challenge each other to be better. We are looking forward to a great season,” Morris said.
Get out and support the Lady Wolverine volleyball team tomorrow. After tomorrow’s matches, the team will not be playing at home again until Aug. 25 when they host Coahulla Creek and North Sand Mountain.
