Volleyball Team Takes Matches From Lady Indians, Lady Bison

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine volleyball team traveled to Chattooga County last week for a big area match with the Lady Indians and made quick work of the host.

The Lady Wolverines fought hard and took the first set 25-14 and then followed that up with another strong effort to claim the set 25-12 and the match 2-0.

The win got them off to a good start in area play.

Match highlights included: Logan Frint, eight kills; Zoie Smith, three aces, 10 assists, six digs; Brooklyn Konrad; Heidi Raines, four kills, three blocks, six digs; Delaynee Davis, four assists, two digs; and Abby Guffey, three aces.

On Thursday, the Lady Wolverines traveled to North Sand Mountain for a match that was added to the schedule late.

Continuing their intense effort, the Lady Wolverines took the first set 25-16 and followed that with an impressive 25-17 win and then took the third set 25-22 to claim the match 3-0.

Highlights for the Lady Wolverines were: Login Frint, six kills, 11 digs; Kendal Emmett four aces, six digs; Zoie Smith three aces, three kills, 10 assists, 13 digs; Jayda Belue seven digs; Brooklyn Konrad two aces, six kills, five digs; Heidi Raines two kills, 11 digs; Alleigh Daniels two kills, two digs, Delaynee Davis two aces, 15 digs; and Abby Guffey four kills.

The Lady Wolverines are now 6-5 on the season, and 1-0 in area play.

DCHS will host Ridgeland/North Sand Mountain tomorrow, Sept. 16 at 5 and 7 p.m., travel to Pisgah, Ala., to take on Ft. Payne/Pisgah on Monday, Sept. 20 at 5:30 p.m., and will host Fannin County Tuesday, Sept. 21 beginning at 5 p.m.
