The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine volleyball team faced Gordon Central last week in an A-AA Area 7 match–up and came away with a big two set win. DCHS took the first set 25-18 and then picked up an easy 25-5 win in the second set to take the match 2-0.
Highlights of the match had Logan Frint with six kills, two blocks, seven digs; Ella Thomas two assist, two digs; Zoie Smith four kills, 14 assist, four digs; Jayda Belue two digs; Heidi Raines three aces, four kills, four digs; Alleigh Daniels two kills, three blocks, four digs; and Abby Guffey three kills.
The Lady Wolverines then took on Ringgold in a non-area match and dropped both sets 25-17 and 25-19 and the match 0-2.
Highlights included Frint four kills; Kendal Emmett two digs; Smith 15 assist, three digs; Belue seven digs; Raines two aces; six kills, three blocks, 11 digs; Daniels two kills; and Guffey two kills, two blocks.
On Thursday the Lady Wolverines hosted the Pisgah Lady Eagles.
In the four set match the Lady Wolverines took the first set 25-16, dropped the second set 25-23 and then took the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-22 to take the very competitive match 3-1.
Highlights included Frint three aces, 11 kills, three assist, 27 digs; Emmett two aces, two kills, three assist, 12 digs; Thomas four aces; Smith 21 assist, seven digs; Belue seven digs; Raines eight kills, two assist, 21 digs; Daniels six kills; Guffey six kills, two blocks, two digs.
This week the Lady Wolverines hosted Lookout Valley on Monday, traveled to Calhoun on Tuesday to face the Lady Yellow Jackets and Grace Baptist Academy for the teams only matches of the week.
