Lady Wolverines Win One But Drop Two

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine volleyball team had two big matches this past week and lost a hard-fought battle at Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe and then took a big win at Model later in the week.

At LFO on Tuesday DCHS took the first set 25-17 but the Lady Warriors rallied to win the second set 25-11. In the third and decisive set the Lady Wolverines came up just short, losing 15-13 and the match two sets to one.

Game highlights included: Logan Frint, six kills; Zoie Smith, nine assists; Brooklyn Konrad, three aces, three kills, three blocks; Heidi Raines, three kills, three digs; Delaynee Davis, two digs.

On Thursday the Lady Wolverines traveled to Model High School to face the Lady Blue Devils in a rivalry match.

Dade showed up ready to play and took the first set 25-19 and then came on strong in the second set defeating the Lady Blue Devils 25-15 to take the match 2-0.

Game highlights included: Frint, three aces, six kills, seven digs; Kendal Emmett, three digs; Smith, two aces, 12 assists, two digs; Konrad, four kills, four blocks, four digs; Raines, five kills, six digs; and Abby Guffey, two blocks.

Next up for the Lady Wolverines was Oakwood Academy and the even though they fought hard for two sets they fell 18-25 and 25-20 to drop the match 2-0.

Game highlights included: Frint, six kill, three digs; Emmett, three aces, two assists, four digs; Smith, two aces, three kills, 12 assists, 10 digs; Konrad, three kills; Raines, four kills, four digs; and Alleigh Daniels, six digs.

This week the Lady Wolverines will host Gordon Central on Tuesday at 5 p.m. and Ringgold at 7 p.m. and then host Pisgah on Thursday at 6 p.m.

Early next week the Lady Wolverines will host Lookout Valley on Monday, Aug. 30 at 5 p.m. and then travel to Calhoun on Tuesday to face the Lady Yellow Jackets at 5 p.m. and Grace Baptist Academy at 6 p.m.
