DCHS Soccer Teams Roll Past Chattooga
The Dade County High School Wolverine soccer teams had a pair of matches last week when they faced the Chattooga Indians.
The boy’s team traveled to Chattooga and got a big win when Javi Mayo scored with an assist from Everett Christenson, Leonard Ribby scored, and Mayo got his second goal with an assist from Chandler Bailey taking the game 3-0.
At home, DCHS defeated the Indians 4-1. Goals were scored by Micah Everett, Josh Tinker and Chandler Bailey. The win was a team effort for the Wolverines.
The Lady Wolverines defeated Chattooga by a 3-1 score. They scored first when Caroline Tremmier hammered home a penalty kick after a Chattooga hand ball in the box.
Dade struggled in the first half to maintain possession and gave up a late first half goal that equalized the match.
The Lady Wolverines came out in the second half more determined and energetic. They were able to start combining passes and slowly took over the match. Two quick goals at the midway point of the second half by Harli Crabtree and Abby Dwyer effectively put the game out of reach as Chattooga was unable to mount any sort of comeback.
A couple of great saves in the first half by Abbigail Tremmier kept DCHS in the match and lockdown defense from Baily Davis, Julie Silverthorne, Harli Crabtree, Karlee Welch, and Samantha Tremmier in the second half helped preserve the win.
The win moves Dade to 4-5 in region and moves them ahead of Pepperell for the fourth spot in the standings.
The Lady Wolverines are scheduled to be back in action on Thursday at home against Fannin County at 5 p.m.
