Cheerleaders Named To All–Region Squad
The Dade County High School Competition Cheerleaders had three members selected to the All-Region 7-AA Competition Cheerleading Squad. All three of these ladies are juniors and have been on the squad for three years.
Hallie Brown was the Competition Co-Captain this year and served as a “quadruple threat” this season. She flew in a kick-full basket, back-spotted on elite stunts, was a base in the pyramid, and tumbled in this year’s routine. She is ready to return for her senior season and make another run at a Region and State Championship.
Makenna Case worked through both injuries and sickness this year to remain on the floor as long as she possibly could – until the doctors told her “no.” She has built herself up over the last three years to be part of the foundation of the squad and continues to impress both on and off the mat. A health concern kept Case off the floor during Region and State this year, but she was there with the team, cheering them on from the sidelines, earning the nickname “Coach K.”
Skye Wilson stepped up this year and taken a leadership role on the mat. She is one of the teams elite tumblers, a base in almost everything, and she may possibly find herself in the air next year at some point. She is currently working to increase her tumbling skills to add a full to her repertoire. Wilson started the season injured because of a car wreck in the off-season but battled back and was a staple on the mat this season.
Congratulation to these young ladies and the competition cheerleaders!
