School Records Set At Track And Field Meet
The Dade County High School track team was unable to compete last year due to COVID, so it was especially good for them to get back on the track last week.
Coaches Ashlie Smith and Philip Bell are excited about the potential of their track and field team this season.
Thursday afternoon the team traveled to Darlington High School in Rome for their first competition since the spring of 2019.

The top finishers for the females were: Addison Welch (fifth) 200 Meter Dash – 30.42; (third) 400 Meter Dash – 1:11.25. Anna Hoover (fifth) 1600 Meter Run – 8:57.07. Emma Stinnett (sixth) 1600 Meter Run – 9:06.42. Regan McKaig (fifth) Long Jump – 11’ 8”. Abby Guffey (fifth) Discus – 57–6. Raegan Page (sixth) Discus – 56–4.5.
Top finishing males were Noah Hodges (sixth) 400 Meter Dash – 59.36; (third) 800 Meter Run – 2:14.25. Andy Breeden (sixth) 1600 Meter Run – 5:38.14; (fifth) 3200 Meter Run – 12:32.18. Daniel Goff (seventh) 1600 Meter Run – 5:46.88; (sixth) 3200 Meter Run – 12:32.21. 4 X 800 Relay team (second) – Noah Hodges, Andy Breeden, Caleb Stinnett, Daniel Goff – 9:53.88 (DCHS Record).
