The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine basketball team traveled to Coosa High School to face the Lady Eagles. They wrapped up a spot in the state tournament last week when they defeated Chattooga for the second time this season and opened up a two-game lead over the Lady Indians for the second seed in the upcoming Region 7-AA Tournament. With a first-round bye the Lady Wolverines will be one of the four teams to advance to the state tournament starting this week.

DCHS wasted little time putting the Lady Eagles away as they scored 11 first quarter points while the Lady Eagles went scoreless.

The Lady Wolverines would outscore them by 11 again in the second quarter and went to halftime with a dominating 27-5 lead.

With everyone getting into the action in the second half Dade coasted to an easy 46-30 win.
Jayda Wood and Ali Thompson led the Lady Wolverines with 16-points each.

On Wednesday, Feb. 10 the Lady Wolverines hosted the Lady Rebels of Fannin County, the first-place team in Region 7-AA with an 11-0 region record.

The teams battled toe–to–toe in the first quarter as both teams held the lead several times but at the end of the quarter the Lady Rebels were up by 2, 12-10.

Dade got it together in the second quarter and out–hustled the visitors from Blue Ridge and at the end of the first half held the lead, 27-19.

The Lady Wolverines continued to lead early in the second half, building an 11-point lead at one point before the Lady Rebels finished the quarter in a furry and tied the score on the final shot of the quarter, 39-39.

In the fourth quarter both defenses stepped up and made it hard to score. DCHS had a couple of chances late to tie the game or take the lead but just could not get the shots to fall as the Lady Rebels pulled out a hard fought 48-46 win.

Henry and Thompson led the Lady Wolverines with 14 points each while Wood finished the night with 12.
