The Dade County High School Wolverine football team has begun preparations for the 2025 season as they get ready for a season opening scrimmage at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga in just over three weeks.

On Friday, Aug. 8, Dade County will scrimmage the Screaming Devils from Warrenton at 8:30 p.m., at Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium as part of the preseason football jamboree.

The scrimmage will be a full four quarter scrimmage with Warren County. Unsure of the exact format but the final two quarters will probably be with a running clock.

The Wolverines have begun preparations for the upcoming season with a lot of unknowns as they graduated a large class last year leaving a lot of holes to fill in this year’s lineup.

In addition, they have only four home games on this year’s schedule. After opening the season with two road games, at Ringgold on Aug. 14 and at Trion on Aug. 22, the Wolverines will host the LaFayette Ramblers on Aug. 29.

Region action will begin Sept. 12 when the Wolverines host Christian Heritage and then travel to Fannin County on Sept. 19.

A home game against Armuchee on Sept. 26 will be followed by a trip to Gordon Lee on Oct. 3 before returning home on Oct. 17 for the final home game of the season against Coosa.

The final two games of the season will be on the road at Chattooga on Oct. 24 and at Gordon Central on Oct. 31.

The next three weeks will be packed with preparation for the upcoming season as the coaches and players work to get ready for a big year of Wolverine football.

So, for all you football fans the wait is almost over with the opening kickoff just over three weeks away!
