Wolverines Rally For Win Over Rebels In Final Game Of Three-Game Series

The Dade County High School Wolverine baseball team opened a three-game series with the Fannin County Rebels on Tuesday, April 8.
Dade County made the long trip to Blue Ridge only to see the Rebels jump out to a two-run lead in the bottom of the first inning.
Fannin County did not stop there as they came back in the second inning and scored four runs and again in the third inning to take the lead 10-0.
The Wolverines managed just two hits in the game that ended in the fifth inning on the run rule. Parker Hill and Kolt Owens had the only hits for the Wolverines.

On Friday, April 11, the Wolverines made the long trip back to Blue Ridge to face the Rebels in a double header after Thursday’s game was postponed due to bad weather.
Dade continued to struggle at the plate and was shut out again by the Rebels pitchers, collecting just two hits, one by River McBryar and the other by Jake Harris.
Hill started on the mound for the Wolverines pitching three innings giving up five runs on three hits. Gavin Wright pitched three innings as well, giving up one run on one hit as Dade County fell 6-0.

The third and final game of the series was the second game of the doubleheader, and the Wolverines rallied for a big win over the Rebels.
After a scoreless first inning, Dade County took the lead at the top of the second inning when they scored a pair of runs on two Rebel errors, a walk, and a sacrifice fly.

The Wolverines added another run in the fifth inning to take a 3-0 lead.
Fannin County rallied in the bottom of the sixth, scoring a pair of runs to cut the Wolverines lead to 3-2.
Dade County would hold on in the seventh and came away with a big win over the Rebels, 3-2.
The Wolverines managed five hits in the game by Evan Mims, Kaiden Hubbard, Hill, Levi Jordon, and Harris.
Hubbard was outstanding on the mound for the Wolverines, giving up just three hits and striking out five for the complete game win.

This week, the Wolverines will wrap up the regular season with a three-game series against the Gordon Lee Trojans. The first game was Tuesday at Dade County. The second game of the series will be tomorrow, April 17, at Gordon Lee. The third and final regular season game will be at Dade County on Friday, April 18. Both games will be played at 5:30 p.m.
