DCHS Softball Team Continues To Dominate Its Opponents

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverines softball team hosted Christian Heritage on Tuesday, Oct. 1, and came away with an easy 9-0, five-inning win. Lexi Lawson pitched a no-hitter, striking out seven and walking just one.
Dade County scored four runs in the first inning and cruised to the easy win in the region game, out-hitting the visitors from Dalton 12-0 and ending the game after five innings on the run rule.
Every Lady Wolverine in the lineup got at least one hit with Riley Talley leading the way with three hits, three runs scored, and three RBIs. Lilah Wilson had a pair of hits as well, while Adilynn Gross and Lexi Lawson each hit a double. Isabell White, Madi Page, and Winter Daniel all had triples in the game.

The Lady Wolverines traveled to Armuchee on Wednesday, Oct. 2, for another region game and came away with an easy 16-0, six-inning win as their bats were red-hot.
They took an early lead, scoring one run in the first, three in the second, and two in the third for a six-run lead. After three innings of play, they were shut out in the fourth and fifth innings.
In the sixth inning, the bats exploded as they scored ten runs to build their lead to 16-0, and the strong pitching of Lawson held the host Lady Indians to just one hit while striking out 13.
Talley led the Lady Wolverines with three hits, three runs scored, and two RBIs while Wilson had three hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs. White also collected three hits and had one RBI.
Page, Lawson, Gross, and Daniel all had two hits in the game, and the Lady Wolverines collected 18 total hits.

The Lady Wolverines closed out the week with another blowout win at Coosa when they defeated the Lady Eagles 17-0 in three innings as Kaleigh West pitched the shutout allowing one hit and striking out five.
The Lady Wolverines scored six first-inning runs, nine second-inning runs, and two third-inning runs, claiming a third shutout of the week. They scored 42 runs across all three games.
Gross had two hits, two runs scored, and three RBIs while Rylee Byram had two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs, and Wilson had two hits, one run scored, and three RBIs to lead the Lady Wolverines.

This week, the Lady Wolverines hosted Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe on Monday and wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday afternoon when they hosted the Lady Trojans of Gordon Lee.
The Lady Trojans handed the Lady Wolverines their only region loss of the season by the score of 4-0. The Lady Wolverines were looking for revenge for that loss and a share of the region title.
