Photo by Eddy Gifford – The Lady Wolverines’ Lexi Lawson continues her dominance from the circle. Lawson has been dominating opposing hitters all season and had a big one hit, 11 strikeout performance against Chattooga County last week.

The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine softball team managed to get in only one game last week as the potential for severe weather canceled games late in the week.

The one game they did get in was a big region game with the Lady Indians of Chattooga and it was a big game for the Lady Wolverines.

Dade County took the early lead, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning and the strong pitching from Lexi Lawson shut down the Lady Indian bats.

Heading into the sixth inning the score remained 3-0 but the Lady Wolverines managed to put together another three run inning to take a 6-0 lead heading into the seventh inning.

Lawson shut down Chattooga in the top of the seventh and Dade claimed the 6-0 region win.

Lawson was outstanding from the circle as she allowed just one hit while striking out 11 in seven innings of work. She threw just 81 total pitches, 63 of those strikes in dominating the Lady Indians.

Isabell White led the Lady Wolverine offense with three hits and three RBIs while Riley Talley also had three hits and one RBI, and one run scored. Winter Daniel had two hits and scored one run.
