Area Tournament Begins Next Week For Volleyball Team

Photo by Eddy Gifford – Azairah Reed had a big week for the Lady Wolverine volleyball team as she provided 51 assists and 22 digs in three matches.
The Dade County Lady Wolverine volleyball team had three big matches last week as the season heads into the final couple of weeks.
First up last week was the Gordon Lee Lady Trojans. The Lady Wolverines got off to a fast start taking the first set 27-17, but the Lady Trojans rallied back, took the second set 9-25, then battled in the third set, but Gordon Lee came out on top 13-15 to claim the match 2-1.
Leading the Lady Wolverines were Alyson Jenkins with 12 digs, two aces; Azairah Reed with 12 digs, 13 assists; Caroline Bell with seven digs, ten kills.
Next up for Dade was Oakwood Christian who won the first set 25-23 before the Lady Wolverines took the second set 19-25. Oakwood came back in the third set 15-7 to take the match 2-1.
Caroline Bell led Dade with 11 kills, seven digs: Reed with 25 assists, five digs.
On Thursday, the Lady Wolverines hosted Darlington, taking the first set 25-18 and defeating the visitors from Rome in the second set 25-23 to take the match 2-0.
Reed led with eight digs, 13 assists; Myah York with six kills; Bell with seven kills, six digs; Marlowe with eight kills.
This week, the Lady Wolverines travel to Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe on Thursday. The area tournament begins next week with dates, location, and match ups to be announced later this week.
