The Lady Wolverine basketball team got in a lot of court time this summer as they spent about three and a half weeks in June practicing and going to camps.

Second-year coach Katie Burrows was pleased with the progress they made and is looking forward to the getting on the court in October.

The Lady Wolverines are currently getting on the court during open gym for those who are not playing softball or volleyball so they will be ready when the season rolls around.

During June they got a lot of court time at Heritage High School’s team camp and scrimmaged a veteran Ridgeland High School team at Ridgeland.

“With nine freshmen, it has been a challenge. But they are eager to learn, and they got better every time they stepped on the court,” coach Burrows said.

With a good group of returning players and the addition of nine freshmen, the Lady Wolverines should be exciting to watch and the season will be here before you know it.

Burrows will be assisted again this year by Hannah Monday.
