Lady Wolverine softball is just around the corner with the first regular season game scheduled for Aug. 1, so the team is busy getting ready for the upcoming season.
Coach Stephen Graham said they are taking a team bonding trip this week, Monday through Wednesday, and will get back to practice on Thursday.
Last week was their first full week of practice and they have a scrimmage at Southeast Whitfield on July 23 and then will play in an FCA tournament on the 24th, which is a three-game play day type event.
‘We had a great week last week with a lot of girls stepping up and filling in holes that we have on varsity due to graduating four starters this past season,” coach Graham said.
The Lady Wolverines will open the season on Thursday, Aug. 1, at home when they host the Lady Ramblers of LaFayette High School at 5:30 p.m. They will then play a double header at Ridgeland on Saturday, Aug. 3 at noon and host Murray County on Tuesday, Aug. 6 at 5:30 p.m.
Make plans to get out and support the Lady Wolverine softball team as they start another exciting season!
