Baseball Season Wraps Up Friday When Wolverines Host Armuchee

The Dade County Wolverine baseball team traveled to Trion on Friday, April 12, for the first game of a three-game series with the Bulldogs. The game was scheduled for Tuesday but due to inclement weather it was rescheduled for Friday.
It was not a good day for Dade County as the Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the first inning, and then posted nine runs in the second. They then finished off the Wolverines in the third with four more runs to claim a 15-0 win in three innings.
The Bulldog pitcher recorded a perfect game, facing nine batters in the three innings and striking out all nine. Parker Hill took the loss.

On Saturday, April 13, the Wolverines hosted Trion for the second game of the three-game series.
The game was scoreless through the first three innings before the Bulldogs pushed across three runs in the top of the fourth inning to take the lead.
They followed that with a run in the top of the fifth to go up 4-0 where the scoreboard remained until the top of the seventh inning.
Trion scored five runs in the top of the seventh, and then shut down the Wolverines in the bottom of the seventh to pick up the win, 9-0.
Dade County managed five hits in the game, all singles, but also committed five errors that resulted in four unearned runs.
Mason Gatlin took the loss, pitching six innings, giving up eight runs, five earned, walking two, and striking out four. River McBryar pitched the seventh inning, giving up two hits and one unearned run.

The Wolverines traveled back to Trion on Monday, April 15, for the final game of the series and then hosted the Armuchee Indians on Tuesday, April 16, in the first of a three game series.
Dade will travel to Armuchee on Thursday and then host them again Friday in the final game of the season. All games this week will start at 5:30 p.m.
