Lady Wolverines Struggle To Score Against Darlington’s Lady Tigers

The Lady Wolverines basketball team was back in action last Friday when they hosted the Darlington Lady Tigers in their first game of 2024.
Dade County got off to a really slow start as their shots would not fall against a good Lady Tiger team who came in undefeated in region play.
The Lady Wolverines managed just two first quarter points and trailed by eight as Darlington put up ten points.
Dade’s defense played well in the first half, holding the Lady Tigers to just 19 points, but the Lady Wolverines managed just five and trailed by 14 at the end of the first half.
In the second half, the Lady Wolverines shot the ball much better and matched the Lady Tigers point for point in the third quarter, scoring ten points each but still trailed by 14, 29-15.
In the fourth quarter, Darlington secured the win with 14 points and came away with a 43-25 win over the Lady Wolverines.
Riley Talley led Dade County with eight points while Josie Daniels scored five. Brianna Marlowe had seven rebounds in the game.

On Saturday night, the Lady Wolverines were back in action, taking on the Armuchee Lady Indians in another region match.
Dade got off to a much better start in this game, scoring ten first quarter points and trailing by just two points at the end of the first quarter, 12-10.
The Lady Wolverines continued to shoot the ball well in the second quarter, scoring 12 points and trailed by just four points at the end of the first half, 26-22.
The third quarter was Dade’s downfall as they managed just five points as their shots just would not fall and the Lady Indians took advantage, build their lead to ten points, 37-27.
The Lady Wolverines battled back in the third quarter, cutting the lead to four points, but deadly free throw shooting at the end of the game gave Armuchee the win in a hard-fought game 50-39.
The Lady Wolverines showed a lot of improvement in this game in spite of the loss, shooting the ball much better and playing good defense.
Kailyn Castleberry led the Lady Wolverines with 12 points, hitting four three-point shots while Adilynn Gross, Andi Norwood, Alexus Atterton, and Brooklyn Konrad scored six points each.

This week, the Lady Wolverines played Trion’s Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday and will then host Marion County, Tenn., on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
On Saturday, they will host Pepperell with tip off at 6 p.m.
