Lady Wolverines Put Up 54 Points In Win Over Lady Eagles

They will be playing in the Sale Creek tournament this week before taking a break for the Christmas holidays.
Dade County High School’s Lady Wolverines basketball team traveled to Hixson, Tenn., on Tuesday, Dec. 12, to face the Lady Eagles of Berean Academy.
Both teams struggled in the first quarter, having trouble finding their range and not shooting well. The quarter ended with a two-point lead for the Lady Eagles, 10-8.
Dade County settled in early in the second quarter and went on to build a big lead, outscoring the host 17-4 in the quarter. They held the lead at the end of the first half, 25-14.
The Lady Wolverines’ confidence grew and the team had a big third quarter both offensively and defensively outscoring the Lady Eagles 18-2 and leading at the end of the third quarter, 43-16.
Dade County put the game away in the fourth quarter, coasting to a 54-24 win. The 54 points were the most points scored in a game by the Lady Wolverines so far this season.
Adilynn Gross led the Lady Wolverines with 17 points in just 19 minutes of action. Josie Daniels scored nine points while Andi Norwood and Brooklyn Konrad scored eight with Konrad also grabbing nine rebounds.
On Thursday night, the Lady Wolverines traveled to Oakwood Christian for a rematch of an early season game that the Lady Wolverines won, 44-38.
It was a totally different game this time around as the Lady Eagles came out ready to play and had a great first quarter, outscoring Dade County 17-8 for a big nine-point lead.
Action slowed to a crawl in the second quarter as both teams went ice cold shooting the ball, scoring just six points total in the quarter and at the end of the first half Oakwood Christian led 19-12.
The shooting struggle continued for the Lady Wolverines in the third quarter, again managing just four points in the eight minutes of play while the Lady Eagles scored 11 and took the lead at the end of the third quarter, 30-16.
Dade County picked up the pace in the fourth quarter, scoring 14 points but it was not enough as Oakwood Christian scored 11 and got the revenge win, 41-30.
Gross again led the Lady Wolverines with a double-double, scoring ten points and grabbing 11 rebounds while Konrad scored ten points and grabbed seven rebounds.
The Lady Wolverines were back at home on Friday night when they hosted the Lady Panthers of Sale Creek who came into the game with a record of 7-3.
The game started slow as both teams had trouble finding their shooting range and the first quarter ended with the Lady Panthers holding a two-point lead, 8-6.
Dade County got the upper hand in the second quarter, outscoring Sale Creek 17-13 and taking a two-point lead into halftime, 23-21.
The Lady Panthers regained the lead in the third quarter by outscoring the Lady Wolverines 13-8 and 34-31 heading into the fourth quarter.
Dade played hard and fought all the way, cutting the lead several times, but were unable to overtake the visitors and fell by the final score of 46-40.
The Lady Wolverines Achilles heel was the 31 turnovers in the game while Sale Creek only turned the ball over 18 times.
Konrad had a big night scoring 19 points while grabbing nine rebounds.
The Lady Wolverines are playing in the Sale Creek tournament this week. Dade County played Copper Basin at Sale Creek on Dec. 16; Van Buren at Rhea County on Dec. 18 and at Rhea County against a team to be announced at 1:30 p.m., today.
