Volleyball Charges Past Lady Pirates, Lady Eagles

They went on to defeat South Pittsburg, Tenn., in two sets to take the match 2-0. They will be on the road the remainder of the season as they shoot for a spot in the state tournament starting next month.
The Dade County High School Lady Wolverine volleyball team faced South Pittsburg, Tenn., on Tuesday, Sept. 19, and came away with an easy two-set win to take the match 2-0.
In the first set, Dade County dominated the visiting Lady Pirates 25-7 and followed that up with a 25-15 win.
Brooklyn Konrad had nine kills while Azairah Reed and Brianna Marlowe had four kills each. Reed also had 13 assists. Alyson Jenkins had three digs and Kendal Emmett had a pair of digs.
On Thursday, Sept. 21, the Lady Wolverines faced the Pepperell Lady Dragons and dropped a hard fourth match 2-0 losing the first set 25-22 and then the second set 26-22.
Caroline Bell had six kills while Abby Guffey and Konrad had four kills each. Reed had 12 assists, and Jenkins had seven digs. Alabama McPhetridge had six digs, Anna Ballard five, and Emmett four.
Dade then faced the Coosa Lady Eagles and came away winning the first set 25-11 and taking the second set 25-15 to claim the match 2-0.
Reed led with 10 assists and four kills while Jenkins had one assist and five digs. Marlowe and Konrad had four kills each and Ballard had six digs.
This week, the Lady Wolverines traveled to Darlington on Tuesday to face the Lady Tigers and the Armuchee Lady Indians in a region contest.
