STARR BRADFORD

Starr Cloud Bradford, 55, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

Born Nov. 5, 1969, Starr was a woman full of life, love, and laughter. She had a bubbly personality, a wonderful sense of humor, and a heart that always put others before herself. Her love for family was deep and unwavering, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She attended both Tiftonia and Slygo Holiness Churches.

Starr was preceded in death by her preborn child, Baby Bradford; father, J.D. Cloud; grandparents, Claude and Lillie Cloud, and Buford and Yvonne Wooten; great-grandparents, Palmer and Ella Wooten, Hodges and Amy Moore, Tempie Wooten, and Woodrow and Lillian Wooten.

Survivors include her husband, Greg Bradford; parents, Woody and Joann Wooten; brother, Dale (Tammy) Wooten; nephew, Cade (Makenah) Wooten; great-nephew, Hagen Wooten; extended family members.

Funeral services were Friday, May 16, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home, with Brother Troy Lawson and Brother Donnie Walker officiating. Interment was at Cloud-Stevens Cemetery during a private graveside ceremony.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude for the many prayers, cards, and acts of kindness extended during this time. A special thank you to the sisters at West Cove Holiness Church for their many meals, and to Hearth Hospice – especially Kendra – for their compassion and care in Starr’s final days.

ROY FOWLER

Roy Frank Fowler, affectionately known as “Rooster,” 85, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025.

A mechanic by trade, Roy had a remarkable talent for fixing just about anything. He earned the nickname “Rooster” from his lifelong love of chickens – a passion that reflected his spirited nature and grit.

Roy was known for giving others a hard time and could be ornery and stubborn, but beneath that tough exterior was a man deeply loved by his family. He especially adored his grandchildren, and they held a special place in his heart. In the end, Roy made things right with God and found peace.

Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Frances A. Fowler; parents, Debbs and Ruth Fowler; brother, Don Fowler; niece, Donna Beck; and nephew, Sammy Fowler.

Survivors include his children, Hila Holcomb, Vikki Thompson, and Michael Croucher; sister, Ann Carden; grandchildren, Tony Croucher, Dana Watts, D.J. Pace, Dustin Pace, Dillon Pace, Donovan Long, Dalton Long, Aaron Sims, Chris Wills, and Michelle McKenzie; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special friends Michael Christensen and Debra White; nieces and nephews.

A graveside service was Friday, May 16, at Mount Olive Cemetery on Lookout Mountain.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of the sixth floor at Memorial Hospital for their exceptional care and patience during Roy’s stay. We are also deeply grateful to Hearth Hospice – especially Anthony, Liz, and Roxanne – for the compassionate support and kindness they showed throughout his final days.

LOUISE REEVES

Louise Elizabeth Williams Reeves, 86, of Rising Fawn, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025.

Mrs. Reeves was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Rising Fawn, to Hubert and Edith Williams. She was a 1956 graduate of Dade High School and had worked at Armstrong/Shaw Industries for many years. She had been a member of Rising Fawn Church of God for over 50 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Winfred Reeves; sister, Helen McMahan; brother, Billy Williams.

Survivors include her daughter, Dianne Marshall (Richard); son, Jeff Reeves (Rhonda); grandchildren, Chad Reeves (Melia), Amber Salazar (Tavis), Richie Marshall (Stephanie), and James Marshall (Chelsea); great-grandchildren, River Reeves, Avery Salazar, Zoe Salazar, Theo Salazar, and Benjamin Marshall; sisters, Sharon Smith (Guwened), and Gail Caylor (Eddie); brothers, Bobby William (Wanda), Rickey Williams (Rodena); nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Wednesday, May 14, at Rising Fawn Church of God with Pastor Chris Hagler officiating. Interment was at Sulphur Springs Cemetery.

MACHELLE SHAVERS

Machelle Donette Shavers, 57, of Trenton, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025.

Machelle was born Feb. 9, 1968, to the late J.E. and Zondra DeVries and was a 1986 graduate of Northwest Georgia High School and received her A.S. degree and was pursuing a career as a surgical technician.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Joshua Price, and sister, Lisa Gilley.

Survivors include her children, Brittany Carson, Michael Shavers, and Jacob Allison; grandchildren, Aiden, Jacob, Mason, Jameson, and Carter; sister, Donna Stanley and Jessica DeVries; brother, Jesse DeVries; nieces andd nephews.

A Celebration of Life was Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Brad Cooper officiating.
