ANNETTE CRAIG
Sarah “Annette” Craig (Steele) passed away Monday, March 10, 2025.
She was born April 2, 1943, in Rising Fawn. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to many. She was a long-time member of the First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Annette was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Floyd W. Craig; father, Gordon Steele, and mother, Lillian Steele.
Survivors include her sons, Tony Konrad and Scott Konrad; daughter, Heather (Terry) Bradford; step-children, Laura (Mike) Mullinax and Bill Craig; sisters, Sandra (Jerry) Wheeler, Hannah (Kenny) Rogers, Lynda (Bobby) Case; brother, Gary Steele; grandchildren, Tress Konrad, Morgan (John) Wilkens, Kori Konrad, Alyssa Konrad, Hayden Konrad and NaShee’ (Chad) Chisenall; several great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Missions program at First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tenn.
The family will receive friends at a Celebration of Life on Sunday, March 23, from 1 to 5 p.m., at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory, Trenton.

DAVID DUVALL, JR.
David William Duvall Jr., 61, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025, after bravely battling heart complications. Born Sept. 12, 1963, David dedicated many years of his life to public service, serving as a police officer for both the City of Trenton and the Dade County Sheriff’s Department. He was known for his kindness, warm personality, and great sense of humor, which left a lasting impression on his colleagues and the community. He was a resident of Trenton. David graduated from Northwest Georgia High School in 1981 and was part of the original crew at the Trenton McDonald’s. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Air Force, an experience that shaped his strong sense of duty and dedication to helping others. Throughout his career, David remained committed to improving the lives of those around him. Beyond his professional life, David cherished being with his family and enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises.
He was preceded in death by his father, David William Duvall Sr.; and grandparents, Fred and Edith Mason; and Owen and Gladys Duvall.
Survivors include his wife, Candy Duvall; sons, James (Misty) Duvall and Austin Campbell; daughters, Rachel (Aaron) Buckner, Christina (Travis) Jubin, Tressa Campbell, Octavia Duvall, and Delilah Duvall; mother, Gladys Duvall; grandchildren, Kaiden and Lila Buckner, Tula, Regan, and Mila Duvall; sisters, Paula Duvall and Mary Ann (Tommy) Bradford; brother, Steve (Chieko) Duvall; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral services were Friday, March 14, at 11a.m., in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother John Smith officiating. Interment was at Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

SONIA HUNT
Sonia Ayers Hunt, 97, of Wildwood, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
Born Jan. 22, 1928, she was a devoted mother and grandmother to many. Following her retirement from Royal Desoto, she worked with her brother at Brock’s Restaurant and was known for her kindness and generous heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucy Weaver Brock and Herschel Ayers; great-grandson, Anthony Hunt; brothers, J.C. Ayers, Bill Brock, Gary Brock, Doug Brock, and Franklin Brock.
Survivors include her children, Mike Hunt, Tommy Hunt, Debbie (Ted) Smith, and Janice Hunt; grandchildren, Kristy and Greg Burns, Shawn Smith, Jeff and Cathy Hunt, Andy Hunt, Tony and Janet Hunt; Aaron and Elder Hunt, Justin Hunt, Julian Hunt, Jackson Hunt, Spencer and Michael Burns, Kirby and Casey Burns, Taylor and Julia Smith, Kaitlin and Kevin McAdams, Tucker and Kadence Smith, Mattie and Adian Hunt, Charlie and Mary Hunt, Katie Hunt, Marley Hunt, Ollie Welborn, Olson and Sunny Smith, Elle and Tenlee McAdams, Cora Smith, and Baby Willow Burns who is due in July; sister-in-law, Carol Brock; nieces and nephews; and special friend, Ell Smith.

JOYCE SHIELDS
Joyce Christine Shields, 84, of Palm Coast, Fla., passed away Sunday, March 2, 2025.
Mrs. Shields was born June 4, 1940, in Bryant, Ala. She was a devoted wife and mother. During her life, she worked at Brock Candy Company and Sather’s Candy Company. Joyce was a Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Shields; parents, Buck Rile and Francis Smith; siblings, Rilene Smith, Joe Edward Smith, Bob Smith, Bill Smith, Jimmy Smith, Jerry Smith, and Terry Smith.
Survivors include her son, Timothy Shields (Lori); grandchildren, Nick Shields (Samantha), Lance Shields, and Zach Cockrell (Kelly); great-grandchildren, Charleigh and Thomas Shields, Peyton and Ella Cockrell; sister, Glenda Wood; nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be Saturday, March 22, at 11 a.m., in the Poplar Springs Cemetery in Trenton.

GRACE OGAS TODD
Grace Ogas Todd, 72, of Rising Fawn, passed away Friday, March 14, 2025.
Grace was a devoted Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart. She attended Lookout Mountain Assembly of God. She was a graduate of Southern Adventist University, where she received her master’s degree and enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a Nurse Practitioner. She was an advocate for women and strived to be a positive Christian role model toward everyone. Grace loved to travel and enjoyed the outdoors. Aside from her professional career, she also volunteered with the Dade County GOP.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eleanor Mixter; nephew, Andrew Robert Mixter.
Survivors include her children, Teresa Jeanne (Jake) Johnsson, Thomas Joshua (Petra) Ogas, Terry James (Christina) Ogas and Todd Jeremiah (Laura) Ogas; sister, Jean Kay (Jim) Newman; brothers, Bruce Robert (Julie) Mixter, Neal Norbert (Bunny) Mixter; grandchildren, Caoilainn, Lars, Jonah, Savannah, Alison, Astrid and Xander.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m., on April 13, at Lookout Mountain Assembly of God with Pastor Gene Strauss officiating. The family will also hold a memorial service on April 4, at First Presbyterian Church of Exeter, Calif.

SARAH WILLIAMS
Sarah Taylor Williams, 90, of Trenton, passed away Monday, March 17, 2025.
Mrs. Williams was a member of Rising Fawn Methodist Church and was a retired bookkeeper with the Dade County School System. She loved being outdoors and tending to her flowers and garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70-plus years, Lewis Frank “Rabbit” Williams, Jr.; parents, S.M. and Lilah Morgan Taylor; sister, Grace Taylor; brother, Robert M. Taylor.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
