LOUIS MCBRYAR

Louis Raybron McBryar, 86, of Trenton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024.

Louis was a native of Dade County and was born Feb. 1, 1938, to Lack and Carrie McBryar and has resided in the Davis community on Sand Mountain for several years. He was employed for several years with Kenco in Chattanooga, Tenn., and enjoyed watching Fox News, Gunsmoke, and the Andy Griffith Show, watching wildlife, and gardening. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Trenton.

Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Wilkie McBryar; parents, Lack and Carrie Daniel McBryar; brothers, Lebron, Bay, Levine, Roy, and J.C. McBryar; nd a daughter-in-law, Jinnie Lynn McBryar.

Survivors include his sons, Mickey (Dianne) McBryar, Roger (Beckie) McBryar and Scottie McBryar, all of Trenton; grandchildren, Carla, Jessica, Rachel, Josh, Kimi, Alex, and Jonathan; 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of Hearth Hospice for their care and compassion during this time.

Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 21, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Cloud and Josh McBryar officiating.

LEWIS PRICE, JR.

Lewis Price, Jr., 91, of Rising Fawn, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024.

Born Aug. 8, 1933, in LaGrange, Lewis lived a life dedicated to family, career and faith. A graduate of LaGrange High School, Lewis continued his studies at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Textile Engineering, He furthered his education with a Master’s Degree in Executive Management from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville. His professional life was marked by significant accomplishments, holding the position of plant manager at Callaway Textile Company in LaGrange, executive roles with J.P. Stevens in Greenville, S.C., Regal Textile in Atlanta and with Dan River Textile in Danville, Va. His expertise also led him to an executive role at Kavari Carpets in Kowary, Poland. Notably, on Oct. 30, 1998, Lewis was recognized and inducted as a Distinguished Alumnus in the Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering.

In addition to his professional accolades, Lewis proudly served his country, being commissioned as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Bliss in El Paso, Texas, and dedicated eight years to the Army Reserve at Fort Benning. Lewis was a man of deep faith and community involvement. He was actively engaged with the First Baptist Church of LaGrange, where he served as a Deacon and taught Sunday School to students from LaGrange College. He belonged to the local Rotary Club, where he served as an officer. Later in life, he and his beloved wife, Joy Dee, were active members of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church and New Salem Methodist Church.

Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis Price, Sr. and Pearl Margaret Grigsby Price; brothers, Dr. William W. Price and Paul Thomas Price.

Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Joy Dee Hatchett Price: daughters, Joy Price Kramer and Jerri Price; son Lewis Price, III; grandsons, Nicklis and Jacob Kramer; brother, Roy Lane Price of Gadsden, Ala.; sister, Dr. Gail Price Fine of Santa Fe, N.M.; sister-in-law, Dr. Christiana Bosse Price of LaGrange; brothers-in-law, Jerry Hatchett and Joele Hatchett of Santa Barbara, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Cynthia Hatchett, Susan Burns Hatchett and Shan Hatchett Goldman; nieces and nephews including Joshua, Shane, Cody, Cheyanne, Ashley and Ryan Hatchett; extended family.

A graveside service with military honors will be at 11 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 25, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Brian Salter, Reece Fauscett and James Helton officiating. Following the service, a memorial gathering beginning at noon at the Jane Harris Youth Building of Lookout Mountain Presbyterian Church (301 N. Watauga Lane, Lookout Mountain, TN 37350).

The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Siskin Rehabilitation Hospital and to Parkside Nursing Home for their exceptional care and support during this difficult time.

LINDA BOWEN-WHITEMORE

Linda Corine Bowen-Whitmore, 60, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 20, 2024.

A talented Master Cosmetologist, Linda dedicated many years to her craft, providing exceptional hair-cutting and styling services to countless clients. She attended Shiloh Community Church and the New Salem Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Louise Bowen; granddaughter, Bethany Grace Baltimore.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca (Diego) Velez and Dakota (Sierra) Whitmore; step-daughters, Ashley (Bradley) McKenzie and Heather Whitmore; grandchildren, Isabella, Scarlett, Stella, Dixie, Bo, Ava, and Cody; great-grandchild, Nova Lee Grace; siblings, Terry (Trish) Bowen, Debbie Minor, and Carla (Tim) Porter.

A Celebration of Life service will be at Shiloh Community Church in Higdon, Ala., on Sunday, Oct. 27, at 4: p.m. ET, with visitation beginning at 3 p.m.
