GREGORY DANIELS
Gregory Dale Daniels, 65, of Lookout Mountain, passed away Sunday, Sept.ember 29, 2024.
Mr. Daniels was born May 30, 1959, in Fort Oglethorpe. He grew up with a love for cars and a knack for telling the best jokes. Whether he was working on a car, watching racing, or simply “cutting up” with those around him, he brought joy and laughter wherever he went. He was happiest when surrounded by his family and serving the Lord Jesus Christ. Mr. Daniels married the love of his life, Beverly E. Harris, and together they raised a wonderful family, always keeping Christ at the center of their home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wilfred Howard Daniels and Shirley Faye Daniels.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Daniels, of Lookout Mountain; sons, Dale (Jennifer) Daniels of Red Bank, Tenn., and Heath (Valerie) Daniels of Rising Fawn; grandchildren, Alleigh, Brody, Josie, and Harlynn Daniels; step-grandchildren, Levi and Landon; brother, Jeff (Brenda) Daniels of LaFayette; several nieces, nephew.
Funeral services were Thursday, Oct.3, at Ryan Funeral Home. Interment was at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Rising Fawn.

LOYD GASS
Loyd Cleve Gass, age 85, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024.
Loyd was born Oct. 17, 1938, to Fred and Minnie Gass of Sand Mountain. After graduating from Davis High School, Loyd attended Berry College where he met and married Betty Williams, the love of his life and mother of his two daughters, Amy and Laura Beth. Both Loyd and Betty graduated with degrees in education and worked passionately in education until their retirement. Loyd served Dade County faithfully as a school teacher, principal, and superintendent. He was very active in the Lions Club, a founding member of the Trenton-Dade Optimist Club, and chairman of the organizing committee of Citizens Bank and Trust. Through his career and these civic organizations, Loyd spent his life working to improve the community’s educational system for educators and students alike.
One of Loyd’s proudest moments was being selected from a group of 40,000 community heroes by the Olympic Committee to run as one of the torch bearers from Athens, Greece to Atlanta, Georgia, for the 1996 Olympic Opening Ceremonies. When Loyd and Betty finally retired, they enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and continuing their work on Sandy Acres Farm, which has been in Loyd’s family for over 100 years and is still being run by his daughter, Laura Beth Cunningham and her husband Scott.
Loyd was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Williams Gass; and sister, Beatrice Brock.
Survivors include his current wife, Virginia Hicks Coley Gass; daughters, Amy Lee Ann Gass and Laura Beth Cunningham (Scott Cunningham); grandchildren, Jacob Levi Gass and Ashley Jordan Bennett; niece and nephew, Harry Brock and Myra Hufstetler.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorial donations may be made to the Trenton-Dade Optimist Club, an organization that Loyd and Betty both felt strongly about and who present an annual Loyd and Betty Gass Scholarship for Future Educators to a student at Dade County High School. TROY HUCKABEE
James Troy Huckabee, 76, of Bryant, Ala., passed Friday, Oct.4, 2024.
Born Sept. 2, 1948, to Elree and Anna Whited Huckabee, Troy was raised in the Lookout Valley, Tenn., area. He dedicated many years to his profession as a truck driver and honorably served in both the United States Army and the National Guard. He cherished his grandchildren, appreciating the joy they brought into his life. Troy expressed his gratitude to Ricky Higdon for guiding him back to church and to Amanda and his grandchildren for their devoted care.
In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Earline Huckabee.
He is survived by his children, Amanda (Curtis) Huckabee, Becky (Corbin) Davis, and Chris (Sherry) Worley; grandchildren, Leanna, Allyssa, Ethan, Aron, Keldon, Addison, Olivia, Carson, Tyler, Kristen, Hailey, Holly, Justin, and Braylen; great-grandchildren, Blakelynn, Oakleigh, Kristopher, Grayson, and Ellorie; siblings, Wayne Huckabee, Robert Huckabee, Dale Huckabee, and Janice Faye Williams; aunt, Helen Norris; uncle, Martin Whited.
Funeral services were Monday, Oct. 7, at the Bryant chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment was at Whited Cemetery.

ADRIAN POWELL
Teddy Adrian Powell, 39, from Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 1 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Adrian worked for many years as a Team Lead at Trenton Pressing, and was a member of the Davis Volunteer Fire Department. He also loved fishing and woodworking.
Adrian was preceded in death by his father, Teddy Powell; and son, Joshua Bailey.
Survivors include his wife, Amanda Powell; children: Patty (Yabsera) Alemayehu, James Allen Powell, and Justice Clinton Pemberton; granddaughter, Amyah Alemayehu; mother, Bonnie (Neal) Shull; brother, Jeremy Jones; sisters, Christy Jones and Amanda Powell; father and mother in-law, Tony and Irene Swafford; special friends, Chris and Christal McPhetridge, Tiffany Thomas, Kris Thomas, and Allen Crump; extended family members.
Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 4, at Rising Fawn Church of God with Pastor Chris Hagler officiating. Interment was at Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

ALICE WILLIAMS
Alice Moore Williams, 87, of Augusta, passed away Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024.
Alice was born Dec. 11, 1936, to the late Harold and Margaret Gray Moore in the New Salem community of Lookout Mountain. She meet and married William Joseph Williams and they created a lifetime of memories through their love of travel, meeting new friends everywhere they went, and playing golf together. She was a proud military wife who loved the Lord, her family, and her country. She was a successful X-ray technician getting her start at Erlanger Hospital and continued working at various hospitals until Bill’s last overseas tour. She loved being at the beach, attending family reunions on the mountain, and Mexican food. In her later years, she enjoyed the love and support of her Sunday School class and church family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, William Joseph Williams; son, Jeffrey Williams, Alpharetta; daughter, Bianca (John) Perrin, Evans; two granddaughters; four grandsons; sister, Blenda Ledford of Chattanooga, Tenn.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 12, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment will be at Hawkins Cemetery in New Salem.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until the service begins.

CHARLIE WISE
Charles “Charlie” Townsend Wise, 85, of Rising Fawn, passed away Sunday, Oct. 6, 2024, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Collegedale, Tenn.
Charlie worked for many years as an air traffic controller before retiring to enjoy a long and fulfilling retirement.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Karen Wise; son, Wade T. Wise of Apple Valley, Calif.; daughter, Susan Wise, Fla.
There will be no services at this time.
