WORTH LILLARD
Jasper Worth Lillard, 86, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
Worth, as he was known by his family and friends, was born in Chattanooga, Tenn., on July 8, 1938, to the late R.S. Lillard and Paulie Shefford Lillard. Before moving to the Bryant community, he had previously resided in Ooltewah, Tenn. Worth was employed for 37 years with the Hamilton County government as Director of Maintenance. During his time with Hamilton County, Worth participated in the design and construction of the fire and EMS stations within the county. On several occasions, Worth overseen repairs made to the Hamilton County Courthouse which improved and preserved its long history. Additionally, Worth managed Simco Leather Company in Chattanooga. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army and an avid Tennessee Vols fan. Worth was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed boating, mowing his yard, listening to music, farming and his dogs.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his infant sister, Gertrude Lillard.
Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Brenda Lillard; son, David Worth (Catharine) Lillard; brother, Stewart Lillard, Jr.; grandchildren, Jackson Worth Lillard and Mason Parks Lillard; nieces and nephews, Karen Lillard, Michael Lillard and Kolbie Bobo; brother and sister-in- sister-in-law, Chris (Paula) Bobo; mother-in-law, Bertha Bobo and special friends, Andrea and Jeff Wright.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Decatur United Methodist Church with Pastor Joey Mathis officiating. Interment was at Decatur Cemetery with military honors.

OMA MCBRYAR
Oma Mae McBryar, 87, of Trenton, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024.
Born on Jan. 23, 1937, to the late Jude and Dorothy Whited Elrod, Oma dedicated many years to Shaw Industries in Trenton. She took great pride in being one of the earliest employees, recognized as the sixth person hired and the last to leave. Her love for baseball, especially for the Atlanta Braves, was one of the many joys of her life. She was a devoted mother who always found joy in spending time with her children and grandchildren. Oma was a member of the Boynton Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Issac McBryar; son, Kenneth David McBryar; grandchild, Alicia McBryar; great-grandchild, Garrett Goodner; siblings, Beatrice Cannon, Alvin Elrod, James “Shorty” Elrod, Edward Elrod, and Jackie Elrod.
Survivors include her daughters, Derinda Williams and Belinda “Bo” (Lebron) Sherrell; sons, Doug McBryar and Gary (Donna) McBryar; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate Oma’s life was Tuesday, Sept. 2, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home. Interment was at Lake Hills Memorial Park.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Amedysis Hospice, the home health team, as well as to sister Terry, Sheila Sprayberry, Teresa Nichols, and Donna McBryar for their unwavering assistance during this time.

RONALD SCOTT
Ronald Darrell Scott, 66, of Trenton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2024.
Darrell was born in Kingsport, Tenn., on Sept. 8, 1957 to the late Tolly H. Scott and Alice Joyce Gray. He was veteran of the United States Air Force and was self–employed for many years as an auto mechanic. Darrell enjoyed watching classic television shows, specifically Andy Griffith. He also enjoyed the solitude of life, spending time to himself, being outdoors, crop farming and tending to his land.
Survivors include his sons, Michael D. (Melisa) Scott and Rodney A. (Miranda) Scott; sisters; Darlene Scott and Davina Scott; brothers, Dwain Scott and Robert Scott; grandchildren; Ryuu, Sasuke, Katherine, Adeline and Himeka.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Health Center Standifer Place for their care of Darrell during his final days.
