LARRY COOPER

Larry Lee Cooper, 76, of Rising Fawn, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024.

Larry was a graduate of Dade County High School class of 1965 and a member of New Home Baptist Church. Following graduation, he served in the U.S Navy during Vietnam, then enlisted with the U.S. Army serving 22 years of dedicated service. He was also employed with the Dade County Board of Elections and as county clerk. Larry was a member of Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Elsie Williams Cooper; brother, Winston Cooper, and sister, Sue Tatum McMahan.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Janice Graham, Valley Head, Ala.; daughters, Pamela Cooper Greulich of Rising Fawn, and Penny Cooper of Valley Head; eight grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Friday, June 7, in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Robert Goff officiating.  American Legion Post #106 provided military honors.

CARL FORESTER

Carl Ellis Forester, 80, of Trenton, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024.

Carl was retired from DuPont following 42 years of service and continued working as a carpenter and cattleman for several years afterwards. He attended Edgewood Baptist Church, was a member of the Trenton Masonic Lodge #179 F&AM, the Fraternal Order of the Scottish Rite, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Carl was an avid fan of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves and enjoyed working on his farm and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. In addition to hunting and fishing, Carl had a great interest in local history, and, as a result, took a keen interest in everything John Wayne related.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon and Margaret Williams Forester; brother, Robert Forester; sister, Barbara Ann Forester.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joyce Bishop Forester; children, Randy Forester, Tammy (Billy) Gadd, and Tracy (David) Lynn; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; brother, James (Betty) Forester; sister, Linda (Thomas) Maggiore.

Funeral services will be today, June 12, at 2 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Tucker officiating. Interment will follow in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens with full military honors provided by American Legion Post 106.

The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour at Ryan Funeral Home and Crematory.

JOHN GLASSEY

John Norton Glassey, 79, of Trenton, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2024.

John was born on March 19, 1945, to the late Elwood and Dessie Pearl Norton Glassey. He lived most of his life in the Atlanta area before relocating to Trenton during retirement. John was an avid reader and golfer. He enjoyed traveling and going on cruises with his beloved wife Linda. A proud veteran of the United States Air Force, John was also a member of Rising Fawn Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, James Chauker.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Glassey; daughters, Priscilla (Todd) Wooten and Stephanie (Andy) Jones; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday, June 5, in the Trenton chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Brother Robby Dunn officiating. Interment was at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville on Thursday, June 6 with a graveside service.

The family wishes to express their gratitude towards Nurse Brandi, Crystal, Amanda, Chris and the entire staff at Hearth Hospice for their compassionate care during John’s final days.

JIMMY PULLEN

Jimmy R. Pullen, 72, of Ft. Payne, Ala., passed away Friday, June 7, 2024.

Jimmy retired from Vulcan Materials of Chattanooga after 35 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Tennie Ramsey Pullen; brother, Charles Pullen.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Pullen of Ft. Payne, Ala.; daughter, Christie (Jeremiah) Lynn of Rising Fawn; grandson, Josuah Lynn of Rising Fawn; brother, David (Edna) Pullen, Trenton; sisters, Brenda Allen, Trenton, and Willene Turner also of Trenton.

Funeral services were Sunday, June 9, in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Atkins officiating.  Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.
