Marsha was born Sept. 9, 1945 in Pulaski, Tenn. She was one of four children born to Alan and Dolly McKay. After graduating Giles County High School in 1963 and having her first child, Marsha moved to the Chattanooga, Tenn., area, eventually moving to Wildwood in 1970. She raised four children there, was a member of the volunteer fire department and remained in the community until she passed. Marsha had a deep love of animals, especially horses and dogs. She raised and showed Appaloosa horses and later bred, raised, and showed Australian shepherds. In her later years, Marsha had a special place in her heart for Opie and Sweet Pea, her canine companions through her long cancer battle.

Marsha worked at many popular establishments in the Chattanooga area, (Buddy O’s, The Boathouse, and Petunia’s Silver Jalapeño), but was most well known as employee, manager, and eventual co-owner of the Brass Register in downtown Chattanooga, Tenn. Marsha made all feel welcome, many “regulars” became her extended family.

Marsha was first diagnosed with cancer in 2010. A benefit was hosted where hundreds of family, friends, and “regulars” attended and thousands of dollars were raised to help and support her cancer journey. With that love and support, Marsha fought several types of cancer and other ailments for over a decade, proving just how strong she was!

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, “Mac”.
