Once again, two students from our local school system will represent the Optimist Club of Trenton Dade and the Dade County Schools in the 2024 Optimist International Oratorical Competition. Two students from each of the four local schools competed to determine “which two“ students would represent Dade County in the next levels of competition.

All competing students presented their composed speeches before an audience of parents, principals, and Optimist members. A panel of three judges and a master judge listened carefully as students presented from the auditorium platform personally written compositions.

Students are presented with a common topic on which they develop their speech. Winners were presented with first, second, and third place medals from the Optimist Club. Winners include Madison Cain, first place from Dade Middle; second place, Ethan Buehrer from Davis Elementary, and third place, Andrew McAnally from Davis Elementary. Cain and Buehrer will compete in the upcoming state competition.

The Optimist Club members are proud of all the students who participate in the Optimist programs.
